Hello there!
You can call me Macena. Or J, if you prefer. Maybe you know me, maybe you don’t… but this is my story:
I’m a Software Engineer with decades of experience. But to be honest, what I’ve really wanted to be since my early years is just that: an Artist.
If it’s art, in any shape or form, I’m interested. Always.
Sounds, letters, shapes, and colors. All of them offer creative ways to express feelings, rhythm, and messages. The soul of the creator and the soul of the person absorbing that art connect in a way that goes far beyond the medium used. It transforms both the artist and their audience.
That is what has fascinated me for as long as I can remember. There’s something in art that fills me up even in the darkest hours, because while trying to create something, I truly feel the joy of doing it.
Why didn’t I pursue this passion back then?
Well, I’ve had asthma since I was two years old. The smell of paint literally took my breath away – and not in a good way. Also, my hands trembled as a side effect of the medications I took. Music was a no-go, since I had to be quiet during the day: my father worked night shifts and slept while the sun was up. Writing was an option, but I was simply too naive to try it seriously, focused on “boys’ things.”
Back then, I saw myself without options and simply gave up…
But now, I’m old enough to review my past choices and realize how silly I was for not trying again and again. This realization finally led me to get a drawing tablet and try out digital art!
No smell. Stabilization. Undo. Infinite options without having to spend a fortune on physical materials. It’s a godsend, literally! :c)
So, I’ll be documenting parts of this journey here. If you are reading this, I’d like to say thank you. And if you like my style and the things I create… well, let’s just say I’ll be deeply, truly grateful, as this means the world to me.
That’s it! I hope to create beautiful things for you to see whenever you’d like.
Oh, and if you want to support my work as an artist, I’d humbly accept it through Ko-Fi, or Stripe – but if you need some other method, we can arrange it.
See ya!
