Oh. My. God.
How do people keep going when they’re so tired?
I get the desire to improve. I get the urge to create. I even understand the insane willpower it takes to continue even when your art feels like garbage to you.
Believe me, I do.
But when you have a family, a highly demanding and stressful full-time job, and all you want in your rare free time is to sit still and stare at the wall to recharge…
How the hell do you find motivation to pick up the pen and draw?
Sometimes I just feel like… nothing.
And that kills me a little inside. There are so many things I want to do, but the energy just isn’t there when I’m drained.
Another example:
Deep down I’m also a writer. I have a manuscript with almost 60k words written and at least double that to go. Everything is planned. But who can actually sit down and let the words flow?
With drawing it’s the same. There are so many things I want to improve, but without clear priorities everything feels equally urgent and I end up just doodling without direction.
Maybe getting commissions could help? Having a concrete goal from a client is always a good way to learn with purpose. Getting you out of your comfort zone, you know?
If you need something drawn, I’m eager to know what, just contact me: first draft if free!
See ya!
